Morning viewers. Well it's Thursday. And of course it's my Friday. Sorry for no afternoon post. I was going to post last night early, but, that never happened. I think I was out like a light by 7:30!!!!! Hate it when that happens. So, how are we all doing on getting in those fruits/veggies? I'm doing pretty good. Although eating fruits/veggies have never been a problem for me. Actually, eating in general has never been a problem for me:). Although, last night I had a Shakeo for dinner. My husband got home late (went to a retirement party) so, I decided to take the time to put my shakeo in a blender with 1/2 a banana, some strawberries, and powedered peanut butter. Surprisingly enough it came out really good. See, I'm not real fancy with my shakeo stuff. Usually just put it in by shaker bottle and shake and go!!! But, the blender makes it thick, and it felt like an indulgence. Oh and I did get my workout in too before I fell asleep so early. I'm jumping between the 21 Day fix (which I LOVE), and PiYo (which I'm staring to love also). Also getting ready to announce the next Challenge group, which I will let everyone know on Sept 1st. Hey viewers. Did you miss my blogging yesterday afternoon? Had a training to go to, sorry. Guess I could have blogged last night. Oh, had my veggies on the grill. Summer squash and eggplant, and portebella mushrooms. This time I didn't had any EVOO to them. Thought I could put it on after they were grilled. LOVED them that way. They were so crunchy, almost like eating chips! Way better than the kale I tried on Friday night. Although, I did take the rest of the kale and sauate'd them with peppers and onions. Not bad but, don't think I will ever acquire a taste for them. Hey live and learn. I'm trying to eat clean. When I can. That means no processed food. It takes alot of preperation, at times. But, I'm trying it. Every now and again I will have something fast like a lean cuisine or boca burger. But, I'm not eating them as often as I use to. Have to say I'm starting to feel good inside. Like I said I'm trying. Now, don't know what's going to happen Thursday night when the Pats play? I usually LOVE to go out for wings, and a couple of beers. Guess I'm gonna gave to google on some wings so I can make them myself. This should be good. I'm an American/Italian, so I'm not good with following directions when it comes to cooking. Which means, I stink at baking!!! Because baking you have to follow it to a T. Well time to go. Until this afternoon. Or maybe later on in the afternoon. Movewithmary.

Good morning viewers. Not sure where you are all from. But, had to put my A/C on yesterday when I got home from work. It's going to be hot and humid in MA for the next couple of days. Have to admit though. I did like those cool nights, even though it felt like fall. Fall is my favorite time of year, even though I'm not crazy about the next season that follows. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the holidays. But, not really enjoying the snow anymore. It's getting old and so am I. So, on with talking about food (my favorite subject). So, I had my spinach salad last night. About 2 cups of baby spinach, 2 HB eggs, some crumbled up turkey bacon, and reduced fat feta. And it hit the spot. I'm kinda easy anyways. I absolutely love any kind of salads. Especially, in the summer time. Just have to be careful what I put on it. Salads can be sneaky. Depending what you put on them they can be your worst enemy. Well time to get busy with work. Hi. Well it's almost noon time. I am already having my lunch. Does anyone take a lunch before noon? Had some fruit along with my shakeo. Already thinking about dinner. Thinking on a nice spinach salad with eggs and some feta cheese thrown on it. LOVE feta cheese. I buy the low fat. It has such a powerful taste that I don't even think I could tell the difference between regular and low fat. Hopefully tomorrow night my husband will grill up some more veggies on the grill along with his tuna. Oh sauted the rest of that kale with onions and peppers. And put some baby spinach in it too. FYI. The oven baked kale I did Friday night, I dumped out!!! Sorry, to those who like it. I just can't seem to crunch it down. And will most likely NEVER buy kale again. Hey, at least I tried it. Yeah, it's Monday. So, hope you all had a good weekend? I did. Too short as usual, and I had Friday off. Another long one coming up, YIPPPEEEE. So, did you hear enough about water last week? Did or are you getting that water intake in? I hope so. So onto the next topic. FRUITS/VEGGIES!!!!! Get them in! This are good for you. There are fruits out there that are packed with water (here we go). No honestly, and they are nice and refreshing. Veggies, are great on the grill. This is my new discovery this year. Funny, I always thought the grill was just for burgers and dogs, and other meats smothered in BBQ sauce. A little Extra Virgin Olive oil and that's it. Well at least for me. Good morning. Sorry no blog yesterday afternoon. I was hanging with the girls. My daughter in law, and the grand girls. So much fun. Thanks Donna, Olivia ,and Chloe. Ok. So, food shopped yesterday, and I did buy kale. Baked it in the oven, actually followed the instructions, and that's a big plus for an Italian! The verdict. They were ok. For starters, I had a boat load on the baking sheet. It's like spinach, it SHRINKS! They came out crunchy, but after they cool they got kinda soft. Guess you have to eat them right away. They were ok. I probably won't make them again? If I want crunch, I will have some whole grain tostito scoops (love those), and Paul Newman's salsa with pineapple (love that too). It's Friday! Okay seriously, was this a long week or what? The weekend is approaching and you know what that means? Well at least for me it means I have a hard time staying on track with my journey. LOL, guess you can say I take a wrong turn. But, I keep on going and try not to get discouraged. Hey, at least I am still down that 10 lbs. Remember, I started this in June. Actually, I can thank those last 4 or 5 puunds to the 3 Day Refresh I did. Have to admit, I'm trying different ways of serving up my veggies. BIG fan of doing them on the grill. Good afternoon. How is everyone's day going so far? Just finished with lunch so, thought I'd blog in. Anyone doing anything exciting for lunch? Walking, drinking that water, surfing the web, reading my blog! Me, just thinking about the end of the day. Yes, I'm going home and getting in a workout. For the next 60 days. Well 57 now, I am doing the PiYo workout. This is what my Challenge group is doing, so I'm doing it along with them. I have already done this one, so I know what to expect. It's a combo of pilate's and yoga with strength training. Man, let me tell you. You do work up a sweat. And trying (notice I said trying) to follow the meal plan with it also. I've said it before and I will remind you again. I'm human. My biggest down fall is the eating part. And unfortunately 70% of any weight loss starts in the kitchen. You know there are some days that I really do wish there was a magic pill!!!!! Hey. I have to be honest. I struggle and always have struggled. But, I am trying to make it better. How about you? Happy Thurday viewers. Well it's getting closer to the end of the week. And doing that happy dance. Hey you do the happy dance you burn calories. So, everybody start dancing! Fitness is all about what you make of it. Do something you like. If you do you will stick with it longer. It doesn't have or shouldn't be work. The same goes with eating. Make foods that you like. Experiment and try to make a healthier meal out of an old family recipe. Hey and if you are me (Italian), there are alot of meals to choose from to make healthy:). My mother's motto was "If it isn't swimming in oil it doesn't tast good". Oh and strive for getting that water in. Remember, chugging a glass before you eat will make you feel full. So, here it is lunch time already. How is everyone's day going so far. Hey it's another beauty out there, so, after you are done with your lunch. Go out for a walk. Oh, and don't forget to bring that water along with you. Did you know there are alot of fruits and veggies that have a high water content in them? Watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, summer squashes, mushrooms peppers, celery. And that's only a few! And here's an idea for those who just don't like plain water. Take frozen fruit (any kind)and put it in your water bottle. It will keep your water cold like ice does, and will flavor your water also. Oh, and when the fruit thaws (which it will), you can eat it. Well. The morning is officially over. So, did you try drinking a glass a water before breakfast? If not chug one down now before you eat. What are you doing after lunch? Going for a walk or some type of activity? Don't know where you are, but, here in MA it's absolutely gorgeous out. 74 degrees. Ya I know, it's August and should be about 10 degrees warmer. It's Tuesday viewers. Not sure where you live, but, here in MA it feels like we went right to September. Have to say though, the fall is my favorite season. I just don't like what follows it. And if it's anything thing like last year. God help us. Okay, so on with the topic of WATER. Oh remember that? So, who had more water intake yesterday than normal? I have already had 20 ounces. Yes I typed that correctly. I chug down 10 when I take my allergy pill, and before I leave the house I chug down another 10. So, let's try this. Before each meal, try drinking 8 ounces of water. Are you game? It will make you feel full so you won't over eat. Now, that's not bad. You're getting in your water and eating less. Think of it like double coupon day:). You are getting two for one. Good afternoon. Just getting settled to have my lunch, and I am already on my 2nd 32oz bottle of water. Not to mention the 10oz I had this morning while taking my allergy meds. How about you? Also there is a challenge pack called the 3 Day Refresh. Remember this is what I did a couple of weekends ago, and lost 4lbs with it. Oh and might I add still kept it off. Hey, and just an update with doing the whole Shakeo at lunch. I started this little journey at the beginning of June. And as of last week, I am down 10lbs. Happy Monday viewers. Well, maybe not so happy, but, it's Monday. How was everyones weekend? You do realize I give you a break on the weekends? Everyone needs time to do their own thing. And who wants me harping on getting excercise in or eating properly? So, here we go. It's Monday and back on track. That is what Mondays are for right? To start a new. So today's tip of the day is WATER!!!!!! Yup, who doesn't drink enough? I can honestly say I do. I like it I have no problem drinking it. But, for those who don't, let's try this. When you get up, start your day with one glass of 8oz. Don't give me that look!!!!! If you take any kind of supplements, medications, instead of just taking that sip to was the pills down, drink a 8oz's worth. It's easy, just chug it like a shot!!!! Happy Friday viewers. And who is doing that Friday dance? I know I am, even though this is my day off. Yes, and I am up early still blogging for you all to read. Talk about dedication. To be honest with all, since I get up REAL early every morning, sleeping till 5:30 is sleeping in for me. Like how sick is that? On with making healthy choices. Okay, food for thought;). Here is a challenge for you. If anything today. Eat some fruit. This is probably the best season right now. You have watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, peaches. You get my drift. If you already eat fruit, good for you, get another serving in. If you are not much of a fruit eater. Throw it in a blender with some low fat or 2% milk or unsweetened almond milk. Good morning viewers. Okay let's talk FOOD. Since on my FB page MOVEWITHMARY, I mostly put out challenges for working out. I figured here we will discuss eating. And if you notice my picture I'm standing outside of a P.F. Chang restaurant:). Now, I'm not a Nutritionist, so, I can't tell you what you should and should not be eating. But, I can still talk about it. Not sure if you know but, 70% of weight loss starts in the kitchen. Yup true. You can pump all the iron you want or workout 5 hours a day. But, you have to be aware of what you are eating also. There is the Food Pyramid on line. Now, it's called Myplate.gov. I think they added a new section of the pyramid? So, with that said. Check it out. And everything in moderation. Don't go for these fad diets. Those are just quick fixes. This is a JOURNEY (oh remember that word), and a lifestyle change. Good morning viewers. Okay, I have an issue this morning, and just have to vent. You all know I am on the road to work pretty early in the morning, like 4:30. Yes A.M. It's still dark out. This morning as I was coming around a corner bend, low and behold there is a jogger. And what would this person be wearing? BLACK running shorts, dark top, oh but she had a biege colored hat on her head. Now, I am all about a healthy lifestyle. But, more important SAFETY!!!!! Please, if you love doing outdoor activities, and it's dusk or dawn, there are things out there called reflective gear. And not just those little strips on your sneakers!!! Those are useless for people to see. I ride a motorcycle. And I have a reflective vest. And yes I wear this when I have to ride in the rain, or at night. I don't care if it's goofy looking. Good morning viewers. Well now here it is Tuesday, and the brighter side is it's closer to Friday:). And the brighter side for me is this is my off Friday. Anybody jealous? Well, don't be. There I have access to all my clients, and I try to reach out to each one seperately to see how they are doing, and answer any questions if they have them. Hey, sometimes I learn a few things from them also. Everybody has a journey or some type of goal that they want to achieve whether it's fitness, eating right, careers. Good morning viewers. Well, here it is Monday again. Did you ever feel like you were in the movie Ground Hog Day? The same thing over and over and over again? I know, it can be hum drum. That is why you have to add a little zip in your life. So, Saturday we changed the upstairs bedroom around. Hey don't laugh at me. It was something different, and it looks nice! Oh even splurged and went out for Chinese food and Mia Tai's. Okay. But, you can treat yourself every now and again. Me, I usually do it on Saturday nights. And then right back into my routine come Sunday. Sunday was a gorgeous day. We took the bikes out. Did around 100 miles. Headed down to RI all back roads, and trucked back home. Oh did I mention these are motorcycles, not peddle bikes. I may seem like a fitness nut, but, I'm not that nuts!!!! So, on with Monday. Got my shakeo and other goodies. Healthy goodies that is. Happy Friday viewers How is everyone doing? I am fine thanks for asking;). Actually, very fine. Took a vacation day today, so I have a long weekend. Although have to do my food shopping today. Going to look over my booklet I got with that 3 Day Refresh, and pick out more of my veggie/fruits again. Oh, I also have to go out and trim up the yard. A little!!! My mint is overtaking my patio. I am not a gardener, so never knew you have to contain mint or it grows wild. Well, at least it smells nice when I cut it back. Okay now. On with my day. Happy Thursday viewers. Well, the week is almost over. And I think here in New England it's suppose to be a beauty. Have to say this summer really hasn't been all that bad. I think we had this one coming to us considering the winter that we were hit with. Anyways, back on track. Still going strong with this somewhat of clean eating and taking my shakeo for lunch. I have to fess up though. I almost caved in yesterday. BUT!!!! I didn't. That was the first time since I have been doing the clean eating thing that I have craved for chocolate. Maybe it's time to change my shakeo back to the chocolate flavor. Now, the big thing. Do I stay with the regular or Vegan? I chose the Vegan for my 3 Day Refresh. Figured it was only 3 days, and I did want to try it. Have to say I liked. I thought the texture was smoother on the Vegan. But, the regular chocolate does taste so much like cake batter to me:). LOL. If this is the toughest decision I have to make today, I will consider myself lucky. Well on with this morning. Have a wonderful day. And don't forget. Happy Hump day viewers. Sorry I missed my afternoon blog yesterday. Did anyone even miss the lunchtime read? Well, on with my journey. Seriously, can't tell you how good I'm feeling with this clean eating thing. I guess what really is helping stay on this is the way my clothes are starting to feel now. Nothing says it more than putting on a pair of jeans right out of the dryer, and they feel like you have on sweatpants!!!! I'm sorry, if this may seem boring or blah, blah, blah, for some people. But, if you never had a weight problem, you just don't understand. For those that have, you know exactly what I'm talking about and that feeling of feeling good. Last night it was tuna (not in a can), on the grill and veggies on the grill. I think I found my new love. Veggies on the grill. What a different taste it gives. And all that my husband added was extra virgin olive oil!!! I'm telling you, that 3 Day Refresh really gave me that kick in pants I needed. And it was only 3 days!!!! Well have a great morning. Good morning viewers. Well here it is Tuesday, and I am still on a roll with this clean eating thing. It's not bad really. I think the hardest is getting all my veggies prepped and or cooked. But, once that is done, then all I have to do is just plot it in my plate and heat it up, depending on what I have. Have to say this 3 Day Refresh was great for me. I do feel so much better. Good afternoon viewers. What is everyone doing for lunch today? I just had my Shakeo with some berries. How about you? I can't believe how good I feel today after doing the 3 Day Refresh. I think for the most part because I stayed committed to it. Especially doing over the weekend. But, the biggest journey is now to stay focused and not gain those 4lbs back. Which brings me to another journey. But, now that I am back on my Shakeo for lunch, it shouldn't be too difficult. This was just a kick start. So, in reality, I am down 10lbs since I started this little journey back in the beginning of June. June 1st to be exact. So, tonight I will go home, and do the 21 Day Fix workout. Happy Monday viewers. Well here it is. The out come of the 3 Day Refresh. Down 4lbs. And let me say I was never so excited to hop on that scale on a Monday before. I have to say it was easy to do. If I had done it during the week day it would have been REAL easy. But, I chose the weekend, because I wasn't sure how regimented I had to be. The only thing with ME doing it on the weekend is that I LOVE going out to eat and my wine. That was a little tough to get through, but I did. And the results were amazing. The 3 days were super easy. Just follow what the book tells you. You do have to prep in advance. Grocery shop, chopping veggies. I even cooked some up in advance. Oh yes, the booklet. You get a booklet, which gives you all the information you will need for the 3 days. Tells you what fruits/veggies you can choose from, and the amounts to eat. For the dinner it even gives you recipes to follow if you wish. But, now the booklet can be a guide line for this program, to do it again. I will take this concept and just add lean meats and fish to it. And maybe more veggies. Good evening viewers Well, today was the first day of the 3 Day Refresh program from Beachbody's. I have to say it wasn't bad. I've just finished dinner and that is it for the rest of the night, unless I want some tea. The shakes are filling. I eat my veggies first, and safe the shakes until the end. Kind of like a treat. They have it so you are putting something in your stomach, almost every 2 hours. The hardest part for me, is that I would love a glass or two of wine. But I can't. I didnt even have my Starbucks skinny vanilla latte today. Hope you all have a wonderful Friday night. Oh and please raise a glass of wine in my honor. I would appreciate it:) Movewithmary.
